I started tattooing in 2002 and I have always been particularly drawn to black tattoos...My work is influenced by many Ethnic styles, but the style that I have developed over the years and
continue to develop is a fusion of Maori,Samoan and Asian elements, combined to create a unique aesthetic.I love the elegance and flow of Maori design, the boldness and intricate geometric lines of
the Samoan Pe'a and the simplicity and perfection of Japanese design...After 16 years of living in Japan,I returned to New Zealand in 2008, to start my own studio,Monk3ys(pronounced ''three
Most of the work I do is first drawn directly onto the body and when the desired result is achieved,it is then tattooed. This is a very important part of the process as the design is created, and
depends largely on, which part of the body it is ultimately going on.
My passion for this art is strong-I love to do what I do!My goal is to keep developing my style of work and continue to produce quality designs.
